{"id":14599,"date":"2023-09-29T12:37:30","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T17:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dept.writing.wisc.edu\/blog\/?p=14599"},"modified":"2024-02-26T16:16:32","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T22:16:32","slug":"cfp-fall-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dept.writing.wisc.edu\/blog\/cfp-fall-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Proposals, Fall 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Another Word<\/em> is currently seeking proposals for blog posts to be published in 2024. <\/strong>We seek proposals from writing center administrators, professional staff, undergraduate and graduate tutors, and those invested in writing center studies on a broad range of topics related to administering, tutoring, training, and working in the writing center.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are particularly interested in, but <strong>not <\/strong>limited to, publishing posts related to these topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AI-generated writing \/ LLMs \/ chatGPT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>community writing centers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>diversity and inclusion \/ social justice\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>accessibility&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>antiracism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>language diversity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LGBTQ+<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>graduate writers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>histories of writing centers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>leadership models<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>professional development for graduate students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>resisting antisemitism&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>tutor training approaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>writing groups\/retreats\/camps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>writing workshops and campus outreach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome proposals of approximately 200 words addressing the topic of the post and its relevance to the larger writing center community. Successful proposals will (1) connect to broader conversations in the field, (2) offer a unique or underrepresented perspective or focus, and (3) clearly fit within the blog genre and our public audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If accepted, we will request a blog post that is approximately 1,000 to 1,500 words in length. In addition to the written text of the post, we will also ask authors to provide visual components as well. For all accepted posts, the editors will be happy to provide feedback, guidance, and mentoring along the way, as needed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proposals are due Sunday, November 26, 2023.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/SupS8VPQvtfdvFwk8\">Submit proposals through our Google Form<\/a>. Notification of acceptance will be sent out in December 2023.
